Prof. Pavel Loskot /Associate Professor

Dr. Pavel Loskot has nearly 30 years of experience in mathematical modeling, signal processing and data mining applied to various engineering as well as biological systems. His research topics of particular interest include designing computer experiments, probabilistic modeling, automated hypothesis discovery, statistical processing of signals with incomplete and/or constrained knowledge, and signal pre-processing for efficient statistical learning. He currently works as an associate professor at Zhejiang University-University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institute (ZJU-UIUC Institute) and is charge of teaching courses, such as Distributed Systems, Computer Systems & Programming, Computational Biology and Systems Biology, etc. He presided several research projects and has published 40 articles in the journals and more than 60 papers in international conferences and 5 book chapters with more than 1300 citations. Dr. Pavel Loskot is the Lead Guest Editor of special Issue Mathematics journal and the member of editorial board of Signals and Frontiers in Genetics. He also won several honors and awards, such as “Best Paper Award” as a single author from 3 international conferences in 2012, 2022, and 2023, “Excellent Instructor”, Summer Research Projects(Summer 2021 and Summer 2023) of Zhejiang University, and so on.
